Infobip runs an applied AI research program that works on problems drawn directly from the platform. Some examples include how to detect spam across billions of messages, how to make voice calls clearer and fairer across different networks and how to build chatbots that understand better.

Our researchers publish at peer-reviewed conferences like ACM IUI, INTERSPEECH, and The Web Conference, but the work always starts with a real engineering challenge and ends with something that can ship. Research spans eight areas, from conversational AI and voice processing to fraud detection, spam filtering, and trustworthy AI, and it's organized around three pillars: conversational experience, AI security, and network optimization.

Infobip's research team are a part of several other unfix bases, and consist of Bippers from different backgrounds, ranging from academia and science to engineering.

Our work through IPCEI-CIS

Through IPCEI-CIS, a major EU co-funded research project alongside partners like Deutsche Telekom, we collaborate with universities across Europe and the US, including the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, TU Graz, the University of Twente, and the University of Zagreb.

These partnerships bring expertise we can't build internally, from NLP and bias detection to ethical AI evaluation, and they give our researchers access to academic networks where ideas get challenged and sharpened. Several of the resulting papers have already been accepted at top-tier venues, and more are in the pipeline targeting ICML, INTERSPEECH, and ECIR in 2026.

Research.infobip.com

research.infobip.com(opens in new tab) is where this work becomes visible to the outside world. Instead of leaving papers buried, we translate findings into accessible posts that explain what we discovered, why it matters, and how it connects to the systems Infobip builds.

In addition, the Research platform serves as a space for all research-related content, ranging from job openings to research news, new papers and blog posts.

In essence, papers get showcased and translated to other types of content through the research blog. The blog gives our researchers a platform to reach an audience beyond academia, and it positions Infobip as a company that doesn't just use AI but actively contributes to the field.
